The “IT” Dancer of the year:
Being the IT Dancer is more than just a title, it is an opportunity to recognize dedication, versatility, and true passion for dance. By offering this category, we encourage dancers to push beyond their comfort zones and showcase their abilities across multiple styles. It celebrates well-rounded performers who are not only technically strong, but also adaptable, expressive, and committed to their growth.
This award motivates dancers to challenge themselves, set goals, and take pride in their progress throughout the season. It also provides a platform for standout individuals to be recognized for their hard work, discipline, and love for the art form.
Dancer of the year helps build confidence, inspires excellence, and creates an exciting, high-level experience that dancers can strive toward. It is not just about winnings, it is about developing artists who are passionate, driven, and ready to take the next step in their dance journey.
To Qualify:
- To be an eligible contender each dancer must have three or more registered solos, in different styles. By having this as part of the criteria, it ensures that the condensing soloists are versatile in multiple styles of dance.
- You may be of any age/level
- Each dancer who wishes to enter to compete for this title will pay a $60 flat fee
*each dancer will be recognized as a competitor in the showcase with a gift before the winner is crowned*
How it works:
The scores will be determined by adding all the dancers’ solo scores together and then dividing against the amount of solos they have entered to receive an average score. The top five scoring soloists will compete in a solo of their choice in the Spotl-IT-e showcase, where a surprise adjudicator will crown the winner.
